Tamale: COVID-19 positive Guinean woman escapes from quarantine centre
Regional Minister Salifu Saeed told the media the patient left her belongings behind.
He told the media that the situation was “a very disturbing situation because she is positive”.
“Since yesterday up till this morning”, the minister noted, “I have not slept with my security people”, adding: “I directed that they should use all their networks to be able to track the persona down and get her”.
The patient, believed to be in her twenties, was being held at a guest house guarded by two soldiers and two police officers.
The Regional Minister, however, gave the assurance that: “Our people are safe”, adding: “We are working very hard to ensure that the people don’t get too panicky”.
“Nobody should be afraid because the security personnel are on top of the issues.”
So far, Ghana has recorded five deaths from the one hundred fifty-two confirmed cases with two full recoveries.
