Tano North MCE cuts sod for major development projects in Tanoso
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tano North Municipal Assembly in the Ahafo Region, Mr. Pius Opoku, in collaboration with the Chiefs of Tanoso and Newmont Ghana, has cut the sod for the commencement of three major development projects at Tanoso.
The projects include the construction of a three-bedroom bungalow for nurses and doctors, the renovation of the entire Tanoso Health Centre, and the construction of five boreholes to improve access to potable water in the community.
According to the MCE, the initiative has become necessary due to the poor condition of the existing health centre and the lack of accommodation for health workers.
He expressed joy that the projects had commenced, noting that the government had fulfilled a campaign promise he made to the management of the health centre during a visit last year.
Mr. Opoku added that one of his key visions is to ensure that the facility receives adequate infrastructure and equipment to enable its upgrade into a polyclinic in the near future.
The Chief of Tanoso, Nana Obrempong Kyei Baffour Akomeah, speaking on behalf of the community, commended the MCE and Newmont Ghana for their continuous support towards improving health infrastructure in the area.
He also appealed to the government to consider upgrading the Tanoso Health Centre into a fully fledged polyclinic to serve the growing population.
The Chief Executive Officer of Samoo 2020 Company Limited, Mr. Owusu Sampson, assured stakeholders that his company will deliver high-quality work and complete the projects on schedule, adding that their track record in the construction industry speaks for itself.
The projects are expected to enhance healthcare delivery, provide decent accommodation for medical staff, and improve access to clean water for residents of Tanoso and surrounding communities.
