Health Minister and Member of Parliament for Juaboso Constituency in the Western North Region, Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has donated ten (10) brand new motorcycles and five (5) advanced neonatal incubators to the Juaboso District Hospital as part of efforts to improve healthcare access and infrastructure in the district.

The donation, made on Friday, July 4, 2025, forms part of the Minister’s broader commitment to strengthening the healthcare system, especially in rural and underserved communities.

The five neonatal incubators are expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s ability to care for premature and critically ill newborns.

Medical staff at the hospital hailed the donation as a life-saving intervention, noting that the lack of neonatal equipment in the past had led to frequent referrals to distant facilities, endangering the lives of vulnerable infants.

The hospital’s Medical Superintendent expressed profound gratitude to Mr Akandoh, stating that the incubators would help reduce infant mortality and improve neonatal care outcomes.

In addition to the incubators, the ten motorcycles were allocated to frontline health facilities across the district to support outreach services such as immunisation, antenatal care, emergency response, and health education in hard-to-reach areas.

The facilities were selected based on operational needs and logistical challenges, ensuring the motorbikes would have the most impact in improving healthcare delivery.

Mr. Akandoh’s latest intervention adds to a growing list of initiatives he has championed to enhance healthcare delivery in Juaboso.

District health officials and community leaders applauded the gesture, pledging to make effective use of the equipment to improve service delivery.

The donation also aligns with the Ministry of Health’s broader vision of achieving universal health coverage and ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare for all Ghanaians, regardless of location.
