#2024 Polls: Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah retains Techiman South seat after re-collation

Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, has successfully retained his parliamentary seat for Techiman South following a court-mandated re-collation of election results.
The Electoral Commission (EC) confirmed Mr. Korsah’s victory with 46,663 votes, securing a clear lead over Christopher Beyere Baasongti of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 43,429 votes.
The Techiman South constituency had been at the centre of controversy during the 2024 general elections, with both the NPP and NDC claiming victory. Allegations of irregularities prompted a High Court directive to re-collate the results to ensure transparency and fairness.
Conducted under heavy security at the EC’s regional office in Accra, the re-collation exercise was closely observed by representatives from both political parties, electoral officials, and independent monitors.
Its peaceful conclusion has been hailed as a demonstration of Ghana’s commitment to democratic principles, judicial oversight, and institutional accountability.
The EC’s confirmation of Mr. Korsah’s win puts an end to the political impasse in Techiman South, paving the way for renewed focus on governance and development.
Following the announcement, Mr. Korsah expressed profound gratitude to the people of Techiman South, promising to dedicate himself to improving their livelihoods and advancing the constituency’s development.
“This victory belongs to the people of Techiman South. Together, we will forge ahead and build a brighter future for our constituency,” Mr. Korsah stated.
