Ablekuma North NDC rejects EC’s claims, demands transparency in collation process

The Election Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ablekuma North Constituency, Eric Anietey, has pushed back strongly against recent statements made by the Deputy Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Bossman Asare, during a parliamentary appearance.
Addressing a press conference on behalf of NDC stakeholders in the constituency, Mr. Anietey described Dr. Asare’s claims—that the NDC actively participated in the collation of parliamentary results and that 25 pink sheets submitted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were verified in the presence of NDC agents—as “totally false and misleading.”
He clarified that the only credible collation the NDC took part in covered results from 219 polling stations.
Out of the 62 polling stations still outstanding, he said, only six presiding officers appeared before their agents.
Of those six, three were found to have submitted falsified results, which were promptly rejected by the NDC.
Mr. Anietey called on the Electoral Commission to publicly disclose the exact number of scanned pink sheets allegedly submitted by the NPP and to specify when and how these documents were authenticated by NDC representatives.
The NDC is also demanding a comprehensive and transparent review of the disputed results.
Specifically, the party wants all 62 polling station presiding officers, along with the constituency returning officer, to be summoned to verify the authenticity of the outstanding results.
He stressed that until these steps are taken, the NDC will continue to challenge what they view as an attempt to manipulate the outcome of the Ablekuma North parliamentary election.
