The Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has  described President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a “democratic dictator.”

The NDC Presidential Candidate was speaking at a mini-rally at Guru in the Upper East Region.

He called on the people of to vote the Akufo-Addo-led administration out of government in the upcoming December polls.

Mr Mahama said: “Nana Akufo-Addo parades himself as a human rights lawyer but he is a kind of democratic dictator.”

The NDC Presidential Candidate also bemoaned the Akufo-Addo-led government’s commitment to freedom of speech and accused it of sabotaging an interview he and his running mate had on a radio station.

“My running mate was going on a radio station to do an interview and you know what they did, they jammed the frequency of the radio station.

“I was going on the same station to do an interview. I was supposed to start at 8 am and at 8 am they jammed the frequency of the station.”

Meanwhile, the National Communications Authority has refuted that claim.

The Authority says it has no capacity to block, jam or interfere with broadcasting signals of radio or TV stations.
