The Chief of Akyem Akroso, Nana Kwabena Ofori Atta II, has applauded President John Dramani Mahama and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for what he described as unprecedented achievements within just eight months in office.

The Chief made the remarks when the NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Akyem Akroso as part of his three-day “Thank You” tour of the Eastern Region.

Nana Kwabena Ofori Atta II praised the administration’s pace of work, noting that its initiatives and progress across various sectors reflect good governance and commitment to national development.

“It is just eight months into power, but the work President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC have done is unprecedented. We have observed significant strides in various sectors, demonstrating truly good governance,” he remarked.

For his part, Chairman Asiedu Nketia expressed gratitude to the Chief and people of Akyem Akroso for their support.

He also apologised on behalf of the party leadership for any shortcomings and called for stronger collaboration between the chieftaincy institution and government, stressing that traditional leaders remain vital partners in Ghana’s governance and development process.
