Assin North seat vacant – Parliamentary clerk informs EC

The Clerk to Parliament, Cyrial Kwabena Oteng Nsiah, has written to the Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, to inform her about a vacant position in the House of Legislature with regards to the Assin North Constituency.
According to the Clerk, the vacancy was necessitated by the declaration of the election of James Gyakye Quayson, who was occupying the Assin North seat in Parlaiment, as unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
The Clerk to Parliament in the letter, therefore, requested the EC Chair to “take appropriate consequential action as required by law.”
