Bawumia dubs himself Ghana's most effective Vice-President
The governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has declared himself the most effective vice-president Ghana has ever had.
During the unveiling of his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), in Kumasi Dr. Bawumia used the occasion to highlight his achievements and position himself as the best choice for Ghana’s future.
In his address, Dr. Bawumia emphasised his exceptional performance in the vice presidency compared to predecessors, including John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“He [Mahama] has been president before and he failed. I’m just a vice president, I’ve not been a president before, but everyone can attest that I’ve been the most effective vice president in the history of Ghana. Even the NDC knows that,” Dr. Bawumia said.
He framed the upcoming December election as a pivotal moment for the nation’s future, contrasting his own record with that of Mr. Mahama.
“The choice is between the future and the past. There’s been no hard-working vice president than me since independence.
“So the 2024 election is about going forward or backwards,” he asserted.
