Bawumia is a child of destiny – Kufuor
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has praised Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, hailing him as the true leader destined to guide Ghana with bold and clear visions.
During the launch of Dr Bawumia's vision for the country, Mr Kufuor recounted his initial encounter with the vice president, expressing admiration for his exceptional abilities.
“I have always seen him as a man of destiny”.
He recounted: “I first saw him in London in 2002 when he was the research assistant to the Governor of the Central Bank. He delivered an exceptional paper among the giants of London in the financial world”.
“Before then, I had never spoken to him. I sent someone to call him and I told him to carry on because he would go far,” the former president recalled.
Reflecting on the 2008 elections, Mr Kufuor highlighted that Dr Bawumia was chosen as the running mate to Akufo-Addo, and he appealed to the party to accept this decision.
He urged Ghanaians to grant Dr Bawumia the opportunity to lead the country in the upcoming elections, emphasising the vice president's qualities and commitment to a digitalisation agenda.
“This man is on a mission determined by destiny, so, please let’s all accept him”.
“Quality is very sacred, and Bawumia has all the instruments to become president”.
“His hallmark is humility and has the requisite temperance needed to rule the country,” Kufuor asserted.
