NDC constituency executives in the Kusaug Traditional Area have expressed deep frustration with the government’s handling of the Bawku conflict, revealing that their own safety is now at risk.

At a press briefing on July 15, the group stated that the party’s grassroots efforts were under severe threat due to the growing anger and mistrust among Kusaug residents.

“Our lives are in serious danger—not just from the crossfire of violence, but from the growing anger of our own people, who now see us as enablers of a system that has betrayed them completely,” they said. The executives said they could no longer, in good faith, continue to campaign for a government that appeared to show little regard for their communities.

They expressed regret that their commitment to peace and justice was not being met with reciprocal effort from the state.

“We refuse to continue risking our lives and integrity in the name of a government that appears to have no respect for our people or for the promises we made on their behalf,” they declared.

While reaffirming their belief in the NDC’s values and leadership under John Dramani Mahama, the executives stressed the urgency for action.

“During the December 7th election, the Kusaug people voted not just for hope and progress, but for survival. Their trust must not be taken for granted,” they warned
