Bono: NPP communicators seek transparency on auction of gov’t trucks
During a press conference held in Sunyani, the Bono regional capital, 12 constituency communication directors for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by Mr. Abubakar Yakubu, who is also an aide to the Member of Parliament for Sunyani East and the communications officer for Sunyani East, voiced their dissatisfaction with the auctioning of certain trucks by the Bono Regional Coordinating Council.
Mr. Yakubu stated that these trucks were acquired during the NDC regime and were allegedly used by the current regional organizer of the opposition NDC, Mr. Mohamed Seidu, for personal gain.
He claimed that with the support of Mr. Kwame Baffoe Abronye, the NPP Regional Chairman for Bono Region the trucks were retrieved through the Sunyani Circuit Court.
Furthermore, Mr. Yakubu criticized the Bono regional chairman of the NPP, Mr. Kwame Baffoe, for remaining silent on issues that could potentially impact the party’s goal of breaking the eight-year political cycle.
Mr. Abubakar Yakubu, speaking as the Communication Director for Sunyani East, called on the Bono Regional Minister to provide a detailed explanation of how the trucks were auctioned.
He warned that until they receive a response from the appropriate authorities, all communication members within the region would commence a strike starting today.
