C/R: Former Gender Minister Cynthia Morrison escapes assassination attempt in Agona Nyakrom

Former Gender Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, Cynthia Morrison narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Agona Nyakrom, in the Central Region.
The incident occurred around 7:40 PM on Sunday, 27 October 2024.
An unidentified gunman targeted the Agona West MP but fortunately missed, instead striking another individual.
The attack occurred during a power outage (dumsor) in the area, which contributed to the ensuing chaos.
Following the incident, Ms. Morrison and her team quickly sought refuge at a nearby police station to report the attack.
Eyewitnesses have noted that the assailant's motive remains unclear, prompting local authorities to launch an investigation into the attempted assassination.
