Dec. 7 polls: Any person who votes for NPP is voting for impunity – Mahama
The flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has urged Ghanaians to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7 general election, accusing the government of severe economic mismanagement and corruption.
Addressing supporters during rallies in Nadowli and Wichaw as part of his three-day campaign tour of the Upper West Region, Mr. Mahama criticised the NPP-led administration for plunging the country into economic hardship.
He blamed the current government for reckless spending and poor governance, which he believes has worsened the financial struggles of Ghanaians.
“Any person who votes for NPP in this election is voting for impunity. Encouraging them to do what they have done to the citizens, and the pain they have inflicted on the citizens. What you are saying is you don’t find anything wrong with it,” Mr. Mahama told supporters.
He emphasised the importance of voting for change, urging citizens to stand against the country’s current challenges.
“The best message that Ghanaians can send not only to the NPP but to the rest of the world is that they have done enough damage, and it is time for them to go into opposition and reflect on the damage that they have done to this country," Mr. Mahama added.
