Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum calls for unity and civility ahead of NPP presidential primary

Former Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has called for unity, civility, and restraint within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the party prepares to elect its next presidential candidate.
Dr Adutwum made the call following a breakfast meeting with former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and fellow aspirants at the former President’s residence in Nima, Accra, on Tuesday.
“I commend the former President for his exemplary leadership and timely call for unity, civility, and restraint as our Party prepares to elect its next Flagbearer,” Dr Adutwum said.
He stressed that the enduring strength of the NPP lay in its ability to “disagree without discord and contest without contempt.”
Dr Adutwum, who is seeking to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections, reaffirmed his commitment to a campaign rooted in integrity and mutual respect.
“As I continue engaging delegates and stakeholders nationwide, I reaffirm my commitment to a principled, ideas-driven, and decorous campaign anchored on service, unity, and respect,” he stated.
He urged party members to uphold the NPP’s values of discipline, progress, and tradition, adding that unity and focus were crucial to securing victory in 2028.
