E/R: Napo urges NPP unity for a decisive victory in December elections
The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, affectionately called Napo, has appealed to party members to resolve any differences and work together to secure a decisive victory in the December 7 general elections.
Addressing a campaign rally on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the forecourt of the Okyenhene Palace in Kyebi, Dr. Opoku Prempeh emphasized the importance of unity within the party.
He stressed that the NPP’s ability to win the elections depends on its collective effort and cohesion.
“You will recall that in 2008, despite all the good works of President Kufuor, we lost the elections because we didn’t do enough to unite our ranks.
We cannot repeat that mistake,” he said. “We must realize that we can only win elections when we are united; and when that happens, the NDC cannot compete with us in any elections.
So, let us be guided and learn to forgive each other for the sake of the party.”
The rally followed a courtesy visit to the Ofori Panin Fie, where Napo was accompanied by former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
The delegation met with the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, to congratulate him on his 25th anniversary and seek his blessings for the NPP’s presidential ticket led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Okyenhene endorsed the NPP’s Presidential Candidate and his running mate, commending the party’s leadership.
He particularly lauded President Kufuor for his impactful social interventions during his tenure, which he credited with laying the groundwork for Ghana’s socioeconomic progress.
