Election 2024: Independent candidate vows real change; 'don't reelect me if I fail' – Samuel Ankrah
Independent presidential aspirant Samuel Ankrah has pledged to bring a new level of accountability to Ghanaian politics.
He spoke on Class 91.3 FM’s Class Morning Show with Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang, August 9, 2024.
He said if he failed to deliver tangible progress within four years after being voted into office, Ghanaians should not consider him for re-election.
Ankrah outlined his vision for a prosperous Ghana, emphasising the need for a fundamental shift away from the entrenched political practices that have dominated the country for decades.
"I come with huge credibility on the table,” he noted.
“My credibility is at stake, and I'm saying I'm signing contracts with the people of Ghana. If after four years we've not been able to structure this country to prosperity, don't vote for me again," Ankrah declared.
He urged Ghanaians to reconsider the status quo, arguing traditional political parties have failed to address the fundamental issues facing the nation.
"But for once, let's do something differently to get different results. If you are living in Ghana right now, hearing my voice, and you think your circumstances are great and the economy is powerful, you're enjoying yourself, forget about what Samuel Ankrah is saying," he continued.
He concluded by calling for a focus on critical thinking and problem-solving, rather than the "cosmetic work and the noise" that dominate the airwaves.
Ghana goes to the polls for a new crop of parliamentary representatives and a president on Saturday, December 7.
