#Fixthecountry: Bawumia lists 70 problems fixed by gov't
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has listed a number of problems the Akufo-Addo-led government inherited and has fixed in its four and a half years in government.
Dr Bawumia’s list comes on the back of a campaign by the youth calling on the government to #fixthecountry.
The angry youth have threatened to demonstrate on Saturday, 9 May to pile pressure on the government to fix the country.
The hastag driving the campaign has been trending on social media since last week and gaining momentum by the hour.
Reacting to this development, Dr. Bawumia in a Facebook post noted that the job of the government is to fix problems and that is what they have done since 2017.
He argued that “the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down the global economy and caused increases in prices of commodities such as oil, cement and iron rods as well as overall cost of shipping. Nevertheless, it is very important to place the performance of our government over the last four years after inheriting an economy with ‘no meat on the bone’ on record.”
Listing their record, Dr. Bawumia noted that the Akufo-Addo-led government is a government that listens and cares and urged Ghanaians to trust the president because he is fixing it.
Below is the list of problems Dr Bawumia says the government has fixed.
