Galamsey: Apologise to Baako, Anas for lying about them: Court orders Ewusi
An Accra High Court has ordered the suspended and embattled Central Regional first Vic- Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Horace Ekow Ewusi, to render an apology to the Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako and investigative jouranlist Anas Aremeyaw Anas for accusing them of engaging in galamsey.
Mr Ewusi is to cause a publication in the Daily Graphic newspaper and also appear on Accra-based Adom TV’s Badwam where he made the accusation against the journalist, to offer the apology.
Mr Baako sued Mr Ewusi for alleging in a TV interview in April 2019 that he [Baako] was engaged in galamsey and linked him to Alaska C & G Mining.
Mr Ewusi is among six persons who were picked up by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in connection with some 500 missing excavators seized from illegal miners (galamseyers) in the country.
