Alan Kyerematen, a presidential hopeful in Ghana's upcoming 2024 general election, has made bold promises of transforming the nation into a paradise if elected.
Addressing attendees at a Sunday Easter Convention held at the Church of Pentecost Dr Wyatt Assembly, Mr Kyerematen, who identifies himself as a transformative leader and the founder of the Movement for Change, pledged sweeping changes under his leadership.
In his impassioned speech to the congregation, Mr Kyerematen drew parallels between his vision for Ghana and the biblical promise of paradise, stating, "When God touches your heart and you vote for Alan Kyerematen, a transformative leader, then I can assure you, as our Lord Jesus Christ promised the thief on the cross that he shall be in paradise with him, you shall also be in paradise when I come into power."
The former Minister of Trade's aspirations for Ghana come after his departure from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), following his defeat in the party's presidential primaries to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Undeterred by this setback, Mr Kyerematen has outlined his ambitious Great Transformative Agenda (GTA), which he believes will address unemployment among the youth and elevate the nation's fortunes.
With his promises of radical change and prosperity, Kyerematen seeks to garner support from the electorate as he vies for the presidency in the upcoming election.
