'I'm not running for 2028' – NAPO

The 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate and former Energy Minister Matthew Nana Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) has revealed he has no plans to run for office in 2028 when Ghana returns to the polls.
“No, I’m not running for 2028,” he told the press in a recent interview, dispelling rumours.
According to NAPO, he was more interested in bringing the fragments of the NPP together to support a flagbearer in quest to return the party to power.
“My interest now [and] immediately is to get a united party for a flagbearer,” Dr Opoku Prempeh said.
