Institute to train Ghanaian diplomats opened
On Thursday, 3rd August 2023, President Nana Akufo-Addo officially inaugurated the Foreign Service Institute, marking a historic milestone in Ghana's diplomatic endeavors.
During the commissioning ceremony, President Akufo-Addo emphasised the significance of this establishment, which will serve as Ghana's dedicated training center for diplomats.
He highlighted the institute's vital role in creating a solid foundation for the country's diplomatic service.
This initiative according to him, reflects the government's unwavering commitment to promoting diplomacy, fostering strong international relations, and equipping Ghanaian diplomats with the essential skills to navigate the complexities of the ever-changing global landscape.
The President expressed his conviction that the Foreign Service Institute would play a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of Ghanaian diplomats. Not only will they gain exposure to various ideas when they travel abroad, but they will also benefit from invaluable training opportunities within their home country.
The institute will provide a conducive environment for former distinguished diplomats to share their knowledge and experiences, thereby enriching the learning process for aspiring diplomats.
President Nana Akufo-Addo concluded his remarks with optimism, stating that this new chapter for the Ghanaian diplomatic service would pave the way for a brighter and more influential future on the world stage.
