Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu has revealed that no office within the Jubilee House is permitted to subscribe to DStv or any other satellite television service.

This, he explained, is part of deliberate efforts by the Mahama administration to reduce public expenditure and promote modest governance.

Mr Kwakye Ofosu said the move reflects President John Mahama’s commitment to prudent financial management and the responsible use of state resources.

“I can reveal to you that if you come to this house, there’s no office that is allowed to subscribe to DStv or any satellite television,” he stated.

He acknowledged that some might view the ban as a minor issue, but emphasised that the cumulative savings are substantial.

“You may consider it trivial, but when the cost was calculated, it amounted to significant public funds.

This is one of many measures the President has taken to reduce unnecessary spending,” he added.

According to him, all televisions in use at the Jubilee House are restricted to local channels only.

“You can turn on any TV here and you'll see only local stations.

That’s what we use,” he noted, adding that the policy will be replicated in other government institutions to ensure value for money.

Kwakye Ofosu praised President Mahama for leading by example, describing him as a leader committed to making personal and institutional sacrifices for the good of the country.

“Governance involves making tough decisions.

But leaders must also show modesty in their actions, and that is exactly what President Mahama is doing,” he said.
