Missing registration kits: NDC requests IPAC meeting

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urgently requested the Electoral Commission (EC) to organise an emergency meeting of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) to address concerns regarding missing registration kits and safeguard the integrity of the December 7 polls.
In a letter dated March 27, 2024, signed by the General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, and addressed to the National Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Jean Mensah, the NDC emphasised the critical need for immediate action to address the identified issues.
The said letter entitled "Request for an Emergency Meeting," highlighted several unfortunate incidents within the commission, including shortages of Biometric Verification Devices and the disappearance of a component of Biometric Verification Registration kits (five laptops).
Expressing deep concern over these occurrences, the NDC underscored the potential threat they pose to the credibility of the upcoming 2024 general elections.
The party emphasized the importance of ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections, urging swift resolution of the identified challenges.
Furthermore, the letter reminded the Electoral Commission that, according to its own timetable, an IPAC meeting was scheduled for March 27, 2024. However, this meeting did not take place as expected, prompting the NDC to request immediate action to convene an emergency IPAC meeting to address the pressing issues at hand
