The Majority Caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament has called for the immediate cancellation of the recently conducted parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso East Constituency, following allegations of vote buying.

In a statement, the caucus said it had become aware of “widely circulated allegations of vote buying” in the primaries held in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

The caucus strongly condemned the reported developments, describing them as contrary to the party’s agenda to “reset the politics of this country.”

After extensive deliberations, the core leadership and extended membership of the caucus instructed the party’s Functional Executive Committees as follows:

- The Ayawaso East Constituency primary should be annulled immediately.

- Any candidate found to have engaged in unethical conduct during the primary should be banned from participating in the subsequent rerun.

The statement concluded by affirming the caucus’ commitment to restoring integrity in Ghanaian politics.

“The NDC Majority Caucus remains committed to restoring integrity to our politics,” it said.
