NDC overstaffing state agencies instead of creating new jobs - Ofosu Nkansah
Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) under the Akufo-Addo administration, has criticised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for what he describes as overstaffing of state agencies rather than creating new employment opportunities.
In a Facebook post on Monday, December 1, Ofosu Nkansah argued that the NDC has been placing their political appointees into existing agencies, leaving many offices overcrowded and under-resourced.
“NDC, instead of creating new jobs for their foot soldiers, have packed them like sardines in already full agencies.
This has happened in almost every state agency, not just NHIA. Their ‘recruits’ can’t even get chairs to sit on,” he wrote.
The former NEIP CEO’s comments reflect ongoing concerns about the efficiency of public institutions and the government’s approach to job creation.
According to him, overstaffing not only strains office resources but also hinders the productivity and effectiveness of state agencies.
Ofosu Nkansah called for a focus on creating genuine employment opportunities rather than filling existing positions with political appointees.
He stressed that public agencies should be optimally staffed to serve citizens effectively, while new initiatives are needed to generate jobs for young Ghanaians.
The remarks add to the wider debate over governance and the management of state institutions under the current administration, particularly as the country prepares for the 2028 general elections.
