NDC primaries: Cape Coast South delegates vow to vote against MP

Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast South Constituency in the Central Region, Kweku Rickett Hegan, has come under fire as some delegates from the constituency have vowed to vote massively against him in the upcoming Parliamentary Primaries scheduled for May 13, 2023.
According to the delegates, they have been neglected by the sitting MP.
They stated that Mr Rickett Hegan has failed on the several promises he made to them during the last campaign.
"It is time for people in the Cape Coast South Constituency to get a new face in Parliament," they argued.
They argued that most of the youth in the Cape Coast South Constituency are unemployed and always depend on the Member of Parliament for their daily bread.
The delegates said they cannot continue to do so.
"We want jobs that will make us self-reliant," they stated.
"We want a candidate who lives with us in the Constituency and won't turn his back to us when we need something," they said.
The delegates issued this threat when Mr Thomas Hughes Amisah submitted his nomination forms to contest the May 13, 2023, parliamentary primary.
They appealed to their fellow delegates to go for Mr Thomas Hughes Amissah as the parliamentary candidate to lead them.
"It is now the turn of Mr. Thomas Hughes Amissah to lead us after his three attempts," they noted.
They argued that he is the only candidate that will help pull massive votes for the former president and NDC flagbearer hopeful John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming general elections.
Mr Thomas Hughes Amissah speaking on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, advised delegates in the Cape Coast South Constituency to do a clean campaign.
He urged them to do away with the politics of insults and unacceptable behaviour in the run-up to the election.
