NPP executives not fit for purpose -Lecturer
A political science lecturer at Cape Coast University in the Central Region, Dr Jonathan Asante Okyere has taken a swipe at the current leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, the current leadership of the NPP are not fit for purpose
He argued that the current leadership of the NPP does not deserve to continue to stay in office.
Dr Okyere made this comment while speaking in an interview with Otafrigya Kaayire Kwesi Appea-Apreku, host of the Ghana Yensom morning show on Accra 100.5 FM on Monday, September 8, 2025.
He was analysing the posturing of the party after the party's loss in the Akwatia by-election.
The current leadership of the party must know to bow out when the applause is louder.
People must learn to do so when the need arises, he said
He warned that the NPP risks internal implosion if the current leadership does not change
