The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has begun a week-long community engagement tour to update residents on ongoing and completed development projects across the district.

The initiative, aimed at promoting transparency and citizen participation, comes 18 months into the government's term and seeks to provide direct accountability to residents.

Ms Ankrah outlined 16 major infrastructure projects in the district, including classroom blocks for Kindergarten, Primary and Junior High Schools, as well as health centres and police posts.

She also highlighted 10 completed mechanised boreholes and disclosed that 30 more are under construction to improve access to clean water.

The tour began on Monday with visits to Adwumakase and Aduman, and continued on Tuesday with engagements in Wawase/Sweduro and Kyekyekyerase.

The meetings brought together traditional leaders, Assembly Members, Unit Committee Members, youth groups, community elders and residents.

According to the DCE, the administration considered it important to account to the public before the next election cycle.

She expressed satisfaction with the level of participation and said the exercise reflects the government's commitment to local development and public engagement.

Residents welcomed the initiative and said it provided a rare opportunity for direct accountability and involvement in the district's development process.
