Napo resigns as Energy Minister

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate to New Patriotic Party flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stepped down from his office to focus on the upcoming December elections.
This decision will allow him to campaign effectively alongside the Vice President.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh, who represents Manhyia South Constituency in Parliament, was announced as the NPP’s running mate during a grand event in Kumasi on Tuesday.
His resignation, submitted Thursday, has been accepted by President Akufo-Addo.
A statement from Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, expressed gratitude for Dr. Opoku Prempeh's service to the nation.
It highlighted his impressive achievements and significant contributions as Minister for Education and Minister for Energy.
Following Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s resignation, President Akufo-Addo has appointed Hon. Abu Jinapor, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and MP for Damongo Constituency, to oversee the Ministry of Energy. Additionally, Mr Herbert Krapa, the Minister-of-State-designate at the Ministry of Energy, will manage the daily operations of the Ministry.
The President has instructed both officials to work closely with Dr. Opoku Prempeh to ensure a seamless transition.
