PRINPAG congratulates Information Minister-designate

The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Fatimatu Abubakar on her well-deserved nomination as the new Minister for Information, following her commendable performance as the Deputy Information Minister in the same administration.
In a press release issued by PRINPAG's Acting Executive Secretary, Jeorge Wilson Kingson, and President Andrew Edwin Arthur, the Association praised Ms. Abubakar for her outstanding commitment to public service, displaying exceptional leadership, integrity, and a profound understanding of the media's role in information dissemination.
The release states, "Her dedication to promoting the welfare of journalists aligns seamlessly with our shared values and objectives.
“PRINPAG looks forward to forging a robust and mutually beneficial working relationship with Ms. Abubakar.
“We remain committed to collaborating closely with her office to advance the interests of journalists, uphold press freedom, and safeguard the vital role of the media in Ghanaian society.

The release emphasised, "Together, we can work towards ensuring that journalists have the necessary support, resources, and protections to fulfill their essential role in informing the public and holding power to account. PRINPAG remains steadfast in its mission to promote ethical journalism, defend press freedom, and advocate for the interests of media professionals in Ghana."
Expressing confidence in Minister Abubakar's stewardship, PRINPAG noted anticipation of a stronger, more vibrant media landscape serving the best interests of the Ghanaian people.
Additionally, PRINPAG took the opportunity to congratulate the immediate past Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah (MP), on his reassignment to the Works and Housing Ministry, acknowledging his services and support to the sector.
