The Parliament on Wheels initiative, popularly known as the “Ayalolo” bus, made a significant stop at the Street Academy School within the Accra Arts Centre, where it engaged students from both Street Academy and Independence Avenue Schools in an interactive learning session on Ghana’s legislative process.

The initiative aims to demystify the role of Parliament and bring governance closer to citizens, particularly the youth, by fostering a deeper understanding of lawmaking and parliamentary oversight.

During the visit, Mr Alfred Ashie Kotey, MP for Odododiodio, and Mr Jerry Ahmed Shaib, MP for Weija-Gbawe, interacted with the students, answering questions and encouraging them to take an active interest in civic life.

The MPs emphasised the importance of youth engagement in governance, noting that initiatives like Parliament on Wheels are designed to build trust between citizens and their representatives.

Students expressed excitement about the visit, describing it as an eye-opening experience that left them inspired and more informed about the work of Parliament.
