President John Dramani Mahama has opened a four-day Ministerial Executive Leadership Programme at Ada in the Greater Accra Region, calling it a critical moment for reflection, reform, and renewed national service.

The retreat, themed “Re-Imagining Leadership in a Reset Ghana”, is being held with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The programme brings together senior political leaders and public officials, aiming to equip them with the skills, insights, and mindset required to lead effectively in a rapidly evolving world.

It focuses on building core leadership competencies, encouraging deep introspection, and heightening awareness of the critical issues facing Ghana today.

In his opening address, President Mahama declared that the retreat marked a call to duty, stressing that governance under his administration would not be business as usual.

"This retreat is a turning point. It is about resetting the way we lead, govern, and serve," the President stated.

"Ghanaians are expecting results, and we cannot afford to disappoint."

President Mahama announced that the government would soon introduce a new Policy on indigenisation aimed at ensuring Ghanaians fully benefit from the country’s natural resource wealth.

The policy, he said, would be central to Ghana’s economic transformation and self-reliance agenda.

Reaffirming his vision to reset Ghana, the President issued a stern warning to his appointees, urging them to commit fully to their roles and deliver results with integrity.

“Anyone who abuses their office or fails to meet the expectations of the Ghanaian people will not be spared,” he cautioned.

The leadership retreat is expected to spark a culture of accountability, innovation, and ethical leadership as the Mahama administration pushes forward with its reset agenda.
