Vote out NPP – NDC PC for Essikado Ketan to constituents
Prof Dr. Grace Ayesnu Danquah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Essikado Ketan Constituency in the Western Region, has called on constituents to vote out the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming general elections on December 7, 2024.
Prof Dr. Danquah criticised the 16-year tenure of the NPP, attributing it to the poor condition of the area's roads and other infrastructural issues.
Prof Dr. Danquah pointed to the daily struggles faced by residents due to bad leadership, specifically targeting the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Joe Ghartey, who is also the Board Chairman of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
She accused Mr. Ghartey of repeatedly imposing himself on the electorate, claiming that even in the 2020 elections, he returned to Parliament through alleged collusion with electoral officers despite the people's rejection.
Speaking on the Ghana Yensom morning show hosted by Otafrigya Kaayire Kwesi Appea-Apreku on Accra 100.5 FM, Prof Dr. Danquah highlighted her efforts to address the road issues.
"As an aspirant, I have organized for some sections of the roads to be patched while the MP looks on," she stated.
She also mentioned that local companies had contributed funds for the construction of major roads in the constituency, but the Assembly had taken the money in 2019, with no visible progress on the roads since then.
Dr. Danquah urged the electorate to vote massively for former President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming elections, promising that his leadership would bring much-needed change and relief to Ghanaians. "
It's time to change the narrative and bring reprieve to the people of Essikado Ketan and Ghana as a whole," she concluded.
