W/R: Essikado-Ketan MP cuts sod for new classroom block and inspects Esheim Health Centre project
The Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan and Deputy Minister for Health, Dr Grace Ayensu Danquah, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving education and healthcare delivery in his constituency with the commencement of two key development projects at Kojokrom and Esheim.
The MP on Monday cut the sod for the construction of a 3-unit classroom block at Prophet Nkansah Basic School in Kojokrom. The project, which forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance educational infrastructure, is expected to provide a conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Danquah emphasised that access to quality education remains a cornerstone of national development.
“Education is the foundation of our future. This new classroom block will help decongest existing facilities and ensure that every child in Kojokrom has access to a safe and modern learning space,” he said.
In addition to the education project, the Deputy Health Minister also inspected ongoing works at the Esheim Health Centre, a key facility designed to expand access to essential healthcare services in the area.
When completed, the health centre will provide maternal and child healthcare, outpatient services, laboratory testing, and emergency care for residents of Esheim and surrounding communities.
Dr Danquah described the project as a vital step in bridging the gap between urban and rural healthcare delivery.
“The Esheim Health Centre will bring healthcare closer to our people, save lives, and reduce the burden of travel for medical attention.
This is what inclusive development looks like,” she noted.
She commended President John Dramani Mahama for his continued support toward community development initiatives, noting that the projects align with the government’s broader agenda of improving social infrastructure under the Reset and Renewal Programme.
Community leaders and residents expressed appreciation for the projects, describing them as timely interventions that would significantly improve living standards in the constituency.
Both projects are expected to be completed within the next few months.
