W/R: NPP to hold elections in Jomoro next month

The National Council of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) at its meeting on December 23, 2022, resolved that internal elections be conducted at Jomoro Constituency.
Additionally, the General Secretary directed in a memorandum dated December 28, 2022, that the Regional Executive should liaise with the Constituency Executive Committee (CEC) and all relevant stakeholders to discuss and agree on a convenient timeline for the conduct of the internal elections at Jomoro.
In light of these, after a stakeholders meeting on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Half Assini, the period from Saturday, January 21 to Saturday, February 11, 2023, has been agreed on for the conduct of the elections.
This was contained in a statement signed by Okatakyie Amankwaa Afrifa, the Western Regional Secretary of the NPP and dated January 19, 2024.

The schedule for the electoral process is as follows:
• Opening of Nomination for Polling Station Officers Election - Saturday, 21st January, 2023
• Polling Station Officers Election - Tuesday, 24th to Sunday, 29th January, 2023
• Opening of Nomination for Electoral Area Coordinators Election - Saturday, 28th January, 2023
• Electoral Area Coordinators Election - Tuesday, 31st January, 2023
• Opening of Nomination for Constituency Executive Officers Election - Tuesday, 31st January, 2023
• Close of Nomination - Friday, 3rd February, 2023
• Vetting of Constituency Executive Officers Nominees - Saturday, 4th & Sunday 5th February, 2023
• Constituency Executive Officers Election - Saturday, 11th February, 2023
Five (5) Election Committees have been formed to be responsible for the supervision and conduct of the Polling Station and Electoral Area Elections.
The Constituency has therefore been divided into five (5) zones. Each Committee comprises of at least two (2) Regional Officers as Chairman and Secretary and a Municipal/District Chief Executive, a Constituency Council of Elder or Opinion Leader and a Constituency Patron as members.
There will be a Constituency Executive Elections Committee to oversee the Constituency Executive Officers Elections.
Polling Station Officers nomination forms shall be acquired from Electoral Area Coordinators, the Constituency Party Office at Half Assini and any of the Election Committees at a cost of GH¢10.00.
The nomination forms for the Electoral Area Coordinators election shall also be acquired from the Constituency Party Office and any of the Election Committees at a cost of GH¢50.00. Both forms can be downloaded from any of the Jomoro Constituency whatsapp platforms and paid for on submission to the Election Committee of the Polling Station or Electoral Area on Election Day.
Nomination forms for the Constituency Executive Officers election shall be acquired from the Constituency Party Office at Half Assini and the Regional Party Office, Market Circle, Takoradi at a cost of GH¢500.00 for aspiring Chairmen and GH¢200.00 for other aspiring Officers.
No prospective aspirant shall be denied access to the purchase of a nomination form.
The Regional Executive is committed to supervising and conducting a transparent, free and fair elections in the Jomoro Constituency and expect the rank and file of the Party in the Constituency to participate and respect the electoral process.
It is hoped that most known and active members of the Party will avail themselves and contest the various offices to serve the Party well and help in the recapturing of the Jomoro seat as well as the retention of power.
