President Mahama to launch Africa’s largest industrial park
The grand launch is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
The initiative forms part of the Gomoa Central Ten-Year Development Agenda, aimed at positioning the district as a key hub for industrial growth, export diversification, and sustainable job creation.
Spanning over 21,000 acres, the GC-SEZ is expected to host 24-hour industries across multiple sectors — including manufacturing, logistics, agro-processing, renewable energy, and technology.
According to project planners, the park will serve as a catalyst for regional and national economic growth, aligning with President Mahama’s 24-hour economy vision, which seeks to maximise productivity and create continuous employment opportunities.
A statement from the Office of the President described the GC-SEZ as a “transformational initiative” that will accelerate Ghana’s industrialisation agenda, attract both domestic and foreign investment, and strengthen the country’s position within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework.
“This is 24-hour economy — from campaign promise to industrial reality,” the statement emphasised.
When completed, the Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone is expected to generate tens of thousands of jobs, expand Ghana’s manufacturing capacity, and drive inclusive growth through strategic partnerships with the private sector.
