Unregistered SIM cards to be deleted from telecom operators’ database today

Owners of unregistered SIM cards across the country will from today, Monday 17 April 2023, have their numbers deleted from the database of their telecommunication network.
This comes on the back of the National Communications Authority’s (NCA) directive.
The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications was directed by the NCA to have all unregistered SIM cards removed from their database by Friday, 31 March 2023.
Individuals who have more than the 10 SIM cards per limit, will also be deactivated and deleted from the system.
Telecom operators will also be required to submit to the NCA the number of SIM cards deactivated and deleted from their databases.
