Black Maidens beat Togo 2-0 away in U17 World Cup Qualifier
Ghana’s U17 women’s team, the Black Maidens, recorded a 2-0 victory over Togo in the first leg of their FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier.
The match, played at the Stade de Kégué, saw Priscilla Mensah score both goals to give Ghana the advantage.
The Black Maidens took the lead in the 16th minute when Mensah finished off a team move.
Ghana controlled possession for much of the game and limited Togo’s opportunities in the first half.
Mensah added her second goal in the 64th minute to complete the win.
The result gives Ghana a two-goal advantage ahead of the second leg, which will be played at the Accra Sports Stadiumon April 18.
The Black Maidens will aim to secure qualification in the return leg.
