The Head of the Black Stars’ medical team, Dr Prince Pambo, has travelled to Toulouse to check on Francis Abu as the midfielder continues his recovery from injury.

The visit, which took place on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, formed part of efforts by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) show support and solidarity to national team players during difficult periods.

Dr Pambo used the opportunity to assess Abu’s fitness progress since beginning rehabilitation three months ago.

The 25-year-old has been sidelined with a fractured leg sustained during an international friendly against Japan national football team in Nagoya in November 2025. He is currently undergoing gym-based rehabilitation and is working toward a return to both individual and group training sessions.

Abu made his Black Stars debut against Uganda national football team in March 2024 and has since earned six caps for the senior national team.

Dr Pambo’s trip to Toulouse follows a similar visit on Tuesday to Mohammed Salisu in Monaco, who is also recovering from injury.

Ghana is preparing for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be hosted in Canada, Mexico, and United States, after qualifying for its fifth appearance at the tournament.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside England national football team, Panama national football team, and Croatia national football team.
