Borussia Dortmund sends support to Otto Addo after accident

Borussia Dortmund has expressed their support for Black Stars head coach Otto Addo following a road accident on Sunday, 1 September 2024.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed that Addo, along with Assistant Coach John Paintsil and Goalkeeper Trainer Fatawu Dauda, were involved in a car crash while returning from Tarkwa.
The team had been in Tarkwa for an official visit to observe the Champion of Champions clash between FC Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC.
The accident occurred when their Land Cruiser, with registration number GR 6521-21, narrowly avoided a head-on collision with a pickup truck that veered into their lane, resulting in damage to the vehicle.
Borussia Dortmund took to X formerly Twitter to extend their best wishes to Otto Addo and his colleagues.
“We wish everyone a speedy recovery,” Borussia Dortmund added.
Meanwhile, the GFA has assured the public that, the Black Stars manager and his assistants are in stable condition and are expected to resume their duties, leading Ghana’s training session on Monday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars are gearing up for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with matches against Angola on September 5 and Niger on September 9.
