Coach Otto Addo unveils strong Black Stars squad for 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced a formidable squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar later this month.
Following Ghana’s shocking failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)—the first time in two decades—the national team is determined to bounce back in the crucial qualification matches.
The 49-year-old coach has selected a well-balanced squad, blending experienced players with promising young talents.
Jordan Ayew has been named captain, leading the team into these decisive fixtures. Thomas Partey returns to the squad after missing the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast due to injury. Three local players—Benjamin Asare (Hearts of Oak), Razak Simpson (Nations FC), and Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC)—have earned call-ups.Ghana will play Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025, before travelling to Morocco for a crucial Group I clash against Madagascar on Monday, March 24, 2025.
