Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has confirmed that world football governing body FIFA has imposed a registration ban on the club over unresolved financial obligations linked to the Kenne Hiddink case.

In a statement issued on Friday, August 22, 2025, the club acknowledged the seriousness of the sanction but assured its supporters that steps are being taken to resolve the matter.

According to the club, management and the board are actively engaging the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and FIFA to find a swift and responsible resolution.

The Phobians, however, clarified that their current player registrations were completed before the ban took effect, meaning their ongoing squad and competitive fixtures will not be affected in the immediate term.

Hearts of Oak appealed to their supporters to remain calm and united during this period, emphasising their commitment to transparency, accountability, and long-term stability.

“We understand the concerns this may raise, and we appeal to our Phobian family to remain calm and united.

The club’s leadership is fully committed to transparency, accountability, and the long-term stability of Hearts of Oak,” the statement said.

The club added that discussions are ongoing and expressed confidence in reaching a constructive resolution.

Hearts of Oak, one of Ghana’s most successful football clubs, currently finds itself under scrutiny as it works to clear its financial obligations and lift the FIFA-imposed restriction.
