GFA to launch FIFA-backed U-15 Girls Regional Colts Leagues on Jan 23
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to officially launch the FIFA-backed U15 Girls Regional Colts Leagues as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots women’s football development across the country.
The inaugural ceremony will be held at the GFA Conference Room on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11 AM.
The initiative, launched under FIFA’s Women’s Football Development Programme, is aimed at providing a structured and competitive platform for young female footballers nationwide. It is designed to support early talent identification, promote long-term player development, and increase grassroots participation in the women’s game.
The regional Colts Leagues are expected to inspire the next generation of female footballers while instilling core values such as discipline, teamwork, and excellence. A key objective of the project is to establish a clear and accessible development pathway for players under the age of 15, ensuring a smoother progression from grassroots football to elite competition.
The GFA believes the programme will lay a strong foundation for the sustainable growth and future success of women’s football in Ghana.
