Ghana triumphs in 2023 Para Games Amputee Football: Clinches trophy in thrilling final

In a thrilling final match of the 2023 African Paralympic Games football tournament held at the MacDan Park in Accra, the Ghana Amputee Football team displayed exceptional prowess by clinching the championship title.
The Black Challenge, as they are affectionately known, came from behind to secure a memorable 2-1 victory over Morocco, thus, avenging their earlier group stage defeat to the North African side.
The Moroccans began the game with a powerful offensive strategy, posing a constant threat to Ghana and forcing their goalkeeper to make several crucial saves. Despite the valiant defense, Morocco managed to break the deadlock in the 38th minute with a stunning curling shot into the top left corner, taking advantage of a midfield mistake by Ghanaian midfielder Allotey.
The second half saw a resurgent Black Challenge, applying relentless pressure on the Moroccan defense and continuously testing their goalkeeper, who showcased his skills with remarkable saves.
In the closing moments of the game, the football gods smiled upon the Ghanaian side. Hamza Mohammed capitalised on a beautifully orchestrated team move, scoring a crucial goal that leveled the score and sent the crowd into jubilant celebrations.
Bolstered by the energy of the fans, team Ghana seized the momentum and took the lead. Captain Richard Attah's precision from a masterfully executed free-kick put the Black Challenge ahead 2-1 in extra time, securing a well-deserved victory and the coveted trophy for Ghana.
