Black Galaxies v Bafana Bafana: 1:0 defeat was an eye opener - Coach Mingle
Black Galaxies head coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey has praised his players despite their narrow 1-0 defeat to South Africa in an international friendly.
He expressed confidence in the team’s long-term potential, stressing that the match provided valuable experience against a strong opponent.
Despite limited preparation time, Ocansey said the technical team maximised the short window available to ready the players for the test.
"Because the league is ongoing, we didn’t have much time to prepare, but the work was intensive. This game was an eye-opener, and I believe we are building a strong CHAN team. The players performed very well against a tough opponent, and we have a bright future ahead," Kassim Mingle Ocansey said.
The international friendly was played at the Dobsonville Stadium, Soweto, South Africa.
The Black Galaxies will now turn their attention to preparations for the 2026 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
