Black Galaxies captain Razak Simpson has declared the team’s readiness and determination to make a strong statement when they take on South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in an international friendly.

The encounter is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto, South Africa.

Speaking ahead of the match, Simpson expressed confidence in the squad’s preparation and mindset.

“We are approaching the game against Bafana Bafana with full seriousness and confidence in our abilities. My teammates have shown great eagerness and readiness for the challenge,” Simpson said.

Head Coach Kasim Mingle Ocansey, meanwhile, dismissed suggestions that the team is under pressure, stressing that the fixture presents an opportunity rather than a burden.

“This game is an opportunity for the Black Galaxies to prove that they are a very good side. I’m happy to have this friendly, but my team is not under any pressure. We believe in building, and that is exactly what I am doing,” he said.

On Monday, December 15, the Black Galaxies held their first training session in South Africa, with the 20-man squad looking sharp and well-prepared ahead of the clash.

The team is keen to deliver a strong performance on foreign soil as part of its preparations for the 2026 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

The friendly is expected to serve as a key test for the Black Galaxies, offering a valuable opportunity to fine-tune tactics, assess combinations, and gain vital experience against formidable opposition.
