Hearts deny ending player recruitment
Accra Hearts of Oak have denied concluding the recruitment of new players to complement the existing team in the ongoing 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League, which is on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Phobians announced via social media that they had deferred announcement of new players.
The club said on their Facebook page that: “Due to changes in our communications plan, we have deferred the announcement on player signings to a new date which will be communicated later as we join hands to spread the education on the health tips of COVID-19.”
But that has been misinterpreted as the Phobians ending their recruitment.
The club issued a statement on their Twitter handle that: “@HeartsOfOakGH wants to place on record that the Board has not finalised the player recruitment list and hence appealing to all to disregard reports that the MD has failed to finalized their signings.''
Hearts have, so far, outdoored Nigerian national team player Abdourahamane Mamane Lawali as their first signing.
They planned to unveil three more players before the GPL resumes.
