Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz says Colombia's organisation and discipline make them a formidable opponent but he believes the Black Stars have the quality to pose different challenges when the two sides meet in Friday's FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match at Kansas City Stadium.

Speaking on Thursday, Queiroz praised the progress made by Colombia under Néstor Lorenzo, saying the team has developed since the era of Juan Cuadrado.

"It is a team that today is very well organised, with a lot of discipline, with very good players in all their positions," he said.

"They have made changes since Juan Cuadrado's time until now. Changes that have brought another dimension to the team. And the team is playing very well."

Queiroz said he had closely analysed Colombia, including their recent match against Portugal.

"I have made a very careful observation of the Colombian team against Portugal. And they have been very good. That's what I can say," he noted.

However, he stressed that Ghana would present a different challenge.

"Tomorrow is another story. Tomorrow it is not Portugal that is ahead of Colombia. It is Ghana and we are going to play our style, with our strength. And I'm sure we're going to bring more problems to Colombia during the game."

The Black Stars completed their final training session at Sporting Kansas Stadium on Thursday ahead of the 8:30 PM ET kick-off.

Ghana are seeking a place in the World Cup Round of 16 for the first time since the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

The winners of Friday's match will face Switzerland in the last 16.

In Ghana, the match will be witnessed at 1:30 AM on Saturday.
