Semenyo Hails Haaland’s Leadership as City Stay Focused in Title Race
Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has commended the leadership qualities of teammate Erling Haaland, describing the Norwegian striker as an important presence in the dressing room as the Premier League season enters a decisive stage.
City’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in North London leaves the defending champions six points behind leaders Arsenal with 14 matches to play. Despite the setback, Semenyo says the squad remains confident and united.
Speaking to Telecom Asia, the Ghana international highlighted Haaland’s influence both on and off the pitch.
“He is a very nice character and very vocal,” Semenyo said. “He speaks when he feels things are not going very well, but I really get on well with him. He has helped me so much since I arrived here.”
According to Semenyo, Haaland’s competitive spirit continues to motivate the team.
“He’s a champion and always wants to win,” he added. “That is why we are all here, so we have to keep things together even when things are very tough.”
With the title race still open, Semenyo believes that mindset and leadership will be key as City push to close the gap at the top.
